Pearl says "Hello everyone"; Jim Dean, dynamic secretary of the Friends of the Dell, holds the mike as councillors look on. Pearl Braddock founded the Friends in 1996 to raise money for improvements that would halt its decline. The Friends of the Dell have been holding a party in the Dell, a pocket park in the Milverton district of Leamington, every year since 1998 after a local history researcher discovered that the little park had been opened on 12th May 1948; 1998 marked the Dell's 50th birthday as a public space. The 2012 event celebrated the completion of lottery-funded improvements.
