The graveyard is now an Essex Wildlife Trust nature reserve because of its unimproved grassland and what grows in it. The reserve name is 'St. Giles Churchyard', but it is only really a small cemetery with chapel. It was for the old leper colony of St. Giles nearby. The grass is covered in frost.
