The entrance to the "Grand Central" complex from Wellington Road South. Grand Central Image is a retail, entertainment and leisure complex. It contains a mixture of entertainment, leisure, retail and food venues, including the East Orient Asian restaurant on the left. The more notable parts of the complex used to include the Grand Central Pools and Leisure Complex, a Cineworld Cinema and a Tenpin Bowling and Quasar. The pool and cinema remain open but the bowling alley and the former Heaven & Hell Club Image have been demolished Image Previous owners of the site having failed to redevelop the site, it was bought by Stockport Council in 2011. The revamped regeneration plans include an office quarter for the town centre, a hotel, public space outside the railway station. In addition the redevelopment will also include a multi storey car park in an attempt to make the site into a more attractive gateway into the town centre.
