The Bath Arms, prominent in Market Place, held a final session in July this year. It was later announced that the pub, popular with the squadies from the barracks, had been bought by J.D. Wetherspoon; however, the metal shutters went up and there has not been any news about when it will reopen. The 'Bath' refers to the Marquess of Bath, who lives nearby at Longleat.
