Designed by George Dance the Elder, Completed in 1746. Built to accommodate the vast population increase of the village of Stepney. Fire destroyed everything except the bell tower (when?) and then the church was damaged by in the Blitz on the night of September 7th 1940. It reopened in July 1961. See
