Opened in 1973 by British Rail on its line from London to Peterborough, this station replaced an earlier one about a mile to the north, as this one is closer to the 'new' town. View north towards Hitchin and Peterborough, 8 years before a new platform 5 was added to the far left. See Image for a 2021 view from a similar camera position.
