At one time cider houses, which traditionally sold only cider, were quite common. Today only a small handful remain. This public house originated as a traditional cider house but today it sells beer and other drinks, but still offers a range of ciders. These include ciders from Bulmers, Thatchers, Black Rat (from a Somerset family cider farmhouse) and a weekly guest cider. The pub also provides excellent food at very reasonable prices and has a beer garden fronting the Stratford-upon-Avon Canal. It's no surprise therefore that this is a busy and popular venue.
