Junction with Brincliffe Edge Road. Banner Cross Methodist church to the left. Psalter Lane keeps straight on at the traffic lights. Ecclesall Road bears left down the hill with most of the traffic. Psalter Lane reminds us of the days when packhorse trains brought salt from Cheshire towards the city and the south of Yorkshire. The long closed TSB bank building is in the corner between the two roads. Gilders VW car dealership is on the right hand side of the picture, beside the lights. Or it was. That too is now closed, awaiting redevelopment. In the distance a white multi-storey building stands prominent against the hillside. Formerly the 4-star Hallam Tower Hotel, the best in Sheffield. For many years it has lain empty, awaiting redevelopment as student flats, or high class apartments - or anything! A forlorn presence in an affluent neighbourhood.
