This is a cross-wing at one end of the main part of the house; it is being restored. The house was built by Thomas Brooke I c.1550, having acquired the land in 1521, and altered by Thomas Brooke IV in 1620. In this west wing, however, a timber frame dated to the period 1350-1400 has been found, so there must already have been a medieval house on the site. The porch has lost its roof to stone thieves.
