Originally Ashton Charlestown Station, now simply "Ashton-Under-Lyne". The two railway lines pass on either side of an island platform that houses a waiting room and ticket office. Interestingly, the signage on the platform gives the full name "Ashton-Under-Lyne" whilst that at the front of the station (Image]) names it as simply "Ashton". The passengers on this platform are waiting for the train to arrive from Stalybridge, to take them to Manchester Victoria.
