Viewed from Station Approach. Now in use as offices, built in 1852 as the railway station for the Bristol & Exeter railway. At that time, Bristol was the western terminus of the Great Western Railway. Passengers wishing to go further west had to travel the short distance from Brunel's GWR station to the Bristol & Exeter. Brunel's GWR station survives, though it is no longer part of the operational Bristol Temple Meads station. The Bristol & Exeter was fully amalgamated with the Great Western Railway on January 1st 1876.
