Opened in 1873 by the Preston & Wyre Joint Railway shortly after it had acquired the Blackpool and Lytham Railway, thereby creating a through route from Preston and Kirkham via Lytham to Blackpool South (Blackpool Central until 1964). View north west from The Crescent road bridge towards Blackpool. As with other stations on this line, today's simple facilities give little clue as to the grand station that stood here until 1985.
