The Showroom/Workstation art cinema and cultural centre on Paternoster Row looking towards Brown Street. The railway station and Hallam University's "Owen Building" lie behind the photographer. The independent art house cinema is called “The Showroom” and it is twinned with office space for business people working in the cultural industries, i.e.“The Workstation”. This is a 1936 art deco building that was used as a Kennings car dealership in former years. The cinema opened in 1993 and the overall conversion programme was completed in 1998.
