The arms of the City of Glasgow are displayed on many of the bridges: this is on the Kelvin Bridge carrying the Great Western Road over the River Kelvin. The tree with St Kentigern's bell, the bird and the salmon arise from the historical stories about Glasgow's foundation, and more can be found at http://www.theglasgowstory.com/image.php?inum=TGSA05045.
