Kirkcaldy was the birthplace of the eighteenth century economist and moral philosopher Adam Smith, he is by far the most well known native of the town and this is acknowledged and reflected in various ways throughout Kirkcaldy. Two examples are here on St Brycedale Avenue, the building nearest the camera is The Adam Smith Theatre and further along the road is Adam Smith College.
