Plaque to Canon George Glossop in the Glossop Memorial Garden - see Image It reads: "Let those who rest in this garden remember with gratitude the life and work of George Henry Pownall Glossop, Canon of St Albans, a faithful priest, a firm friend, a genial host, a Christian gentleman. For forty years he gave to Church and State in this Diocese wise counsel, unceasing labour and generous devotion. To surround this Abbey with beauty and peace was one of his chief desires. He died, honoured and loved, on the eighth day of June 1925. 1858 - 1925"
