Located in Belgrave Road, the information office is run by the Torbay Tourism Association, and provides visitor information and a booking service for accommodation, travel and local attractions. The Cavendish was built between 1863 and 1866 as a private house, not becoming an hotel until 1924, when it was named The Metropole. Over the years, the hotel has undergone several extensions and has been linked with other existing buildings. It now offers 58 bedrooms, and is one of the largest family owned hotels in Torquay.
