Northern end of the Heriothill (or Rodney Street) Tunnel

The view of the northern end of the Rodney Street Tunnel on the former northern suburban line from Scotland Street to Trinity and Granton. The tunnel is relatively short, being just under an eighth of a mile in length. When the photograph was taken (2009) there were plans to reopen the tunnel for walkers and cyclists. Unauthorised access was restricted by way of a fence. Subsequently work has been undertaken to open up the tunnel Image and the tunnel is now open for walkers and cyclists Image
