A much valued carpark close to the market, and surrounded by the old properties of the Louth Conservation Area. This is the pedestrian entrance from the Gatherums, an unusual little park area alongside a footpath. The only new things here are he cars, the barriers and the brick pillar. The sign on it is one of a series of such signs commissioned by the Town Council a few years back. It was a controversial contract in that it cost the tax-payers £20,000 and went to someone who did not live locally. The quotes are replies to questions he asked of local people.
