Wood on Fore Moor, Creetown

This small square wood, about 550m NE of Mark Farm, is enclosed by a dry stane dyke. Just before the photograph was taken, a red kite was being chased by two crows, who presumably had a nest in the wood. After many years of persecution, the red kite is getting quite common in parts of Dumfries and Galloway
