View NE at the Bay Horse Inn, on the bridge over the railway: ex-Midland Royston (to right) - Thornhill (to left) line. This line was a late attempt by the Midland to secure traffic off the L&Y, which briefly in Edwardian times had a passenger service through here between Sheffield and Halifax, also a through coach from London St Pancras, but was otherwise a freight line,not used after 10/2/64. Actually, Crigglestone East may never been a passenger station. [Experts?]
