Part of the library of the Royal College of Physicians. Sibbald was physician to Charles II, Geographer of Scotland from 1682 and President of the Royal College of Surgeons. He founded the botanic garden (later Royal Botanic Garden) in 1667 and the Royal College of Physicians in 1681.
