From the 1930s to the 1970s various buildings were erected at the Bourne waterworks. In the 19th century we were famous for our bottled water, in the 20th we started exporting it to Spalding for the sugar beet factory. Now so much water is extracted that St Peter's pool Image and the headwaters of the Eau Image are dry most summers. The current owner is Anglian Water
