It was said that this telephone exchange was the last in Britain to be turned "digital" I can believe this, as the telephone system here about was very poor. The smart white brick building was the original, and must have some equipment in it still, as it is well maintained. The building on the left is a common type used for telephone exchanges in this area and beyond.
