Known until quite recently as Image . The Duke - later King William IV - lived locally for many years, at Image . Anyway, I'm glad to report that the new management still think of the place as a pub, rather than a restaurant http://www.bloatedmallard.co.uk/. Interestingly, the proprietors call the building 'Victorian', but I suspect that it's older. The future king was created Duke of Clarence in 1789, and went by that title until he succeeded to the throne in 1830. So the original name of the pub must date from before 1830, and - from its appearance - I suspect the building does, too. By the way - the original name of the pub is still visible, displayed at roof level, above the middle entrance.
