View southward, towards Sheffield: ex-Midland Sheffield - Chapeltown - Barnsley line. This is the new station which replaced the original station, a few hundred yards to the north, in 1984: the old station had been named Chapeltown South in 6/51 to distinguish it from the ex-GCR Chapeltown, which became Chapeltown Central but closed from 7/12/53.
