The Grand Hotel was built in 1864 and was renowned for its excellent location on Brighton seafront and superior facilities, including 201 bedrooms, a lift, ballroom and billiards room. Unfortunately, in 1984, the hotel was the site of a bombing and attempted assassination attempt of then Prime Minister, Margaret Thatcher. The hotel reopened in 1986.
