Coventry's inner ring road, the A4053, encircles the city centre and is seen here coming up to junction 8 (there are nine in all, numbered clockwise from the northernmost point), the Holyhead Road exit. Rather oddly, each stretch has its own name, preceded by the word 'Ringway'. This is Ringway Rudge, which is followed by Ringway Hill Cross, Ringway St Nicholas, Ringway Swanswell, Ringway Whitefriars, Ringway St Johns, Ringway St Patricks and Ringway Queens.
