A tablet on the facade of the library facing George IV Bridge commemorates John Day who published John Foxe's Actes and Monuments, better known as 'Foxe's Book of Martyrs', in 1563. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Day_(printer) I assume that the library's founder, Andrew Carnegie, chose to have it displayed on the building.
