The A50 through Longton and Meir has many design features that are unusual for an urban dual carriageway - extensive use of contrasting brickwork, footbridges with cupolas on top and cable-stayed designs such as this one. In the background are the Meir Tunnels SJ9342. The "Broadway" cinema used to be on a site roughly where the white van is.
