Located http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/3124297 near the B4601 end of the entrance to the Infantry Battle School in Dering Lines at the eastern edge of Brecon. The statue was unveiled by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal on September 22nd 2006. The dedication text on a plaque on the boulder to the right of the statue is in Welsh and English. The English text is a quote from In Praise of Infantry, by Field Marshal Earl Wavell, first published in The Times on April 19th 1945. "All battles and all wars are won in the end by the Infantryman".
