A bridge, now blocked off at the end, that carried the branch line from Burnmouth under the B6355 road from Ayton. In 1891 Eyemouth Railway Co. opened a 3 mile branch line from Burnmouth Junction at Fairniside to Eyemouth. The line was taken over by the North British in 1900 and closed in February 1962 (from ‘The Lost Railways of the Scottish Borders’ by Gordon Stansfield, Stenlake Publishing 2006).
