A former bootlace warehouse by Edward Burgess, 1895-98, which Pevsner describes as the "finest warehouse in Leicester". It is clad in terracotta above a dark marble plinth. Handsome splayed corner flanked by broad piers and crowned by octagonal spired turrets and dome. The dome may be a later replica as the listing refers to the "drum of what was once a dome". Grade II listed. It has been converted to flats. I wonder how many bootlaces it used to be able to accommodate.
