The white painted house dates from about 1815 and is Grade II listed with English Heritage Building ID: 361193. It was possibly designed by Benjamin Bevan, in a variant form of 'Old Grand Union' style housing. The narrowboat is ascending the 7 locks and will have been raised 52 foot 6 inches higher by the top pound.
