Newlands is one of the older roads in the town and was probably busier in the past, when there were a number of inns/hotels open here. Today the road is mainly residential, although the Talbot public house survives. The road coming in on the left is Head Street. On the corner of Newlands and New Road is a wall mounted postbox.
