View westward, towards Machynlleth etc.: ex-Cambrian main line, Whitchurch/Shrewsbury - Welshpool - Machynlleth - Aberystwyth/Pwllheli. After closure Whitchchurch - Buttington from 18/1/65, trains have run only from Shrewsbury and Cemmaes Road station, which is out of sight behind the camera was closed from 14/6/65. Until finally closed from 1/7/50 (passengers from 1/1/31), the branch from Dinas Mawddwy had joined here from behind on the right.
