A boarded-up entrance into The Great Hall and the East Lecture Hall in the central part of this former military training establishment for cadet officers. This private, gravelled road is now called Ashmore Road and it connects Red Lion Lane (behind the photographer) with Academy Road (a.k.a. the South Circular Road or the A205), although security gates at either end of it mean that it is not used as a public traffic route. It remains to be seen to what will become of the remaining former blocks although the principal developers have already committed themselves to providing "a large communal space with a big screen in The Great Hall".
