Confluence of the River Almond and Linhouse Water

Just after the Almond has passed under the Pumpherston Road [B8046], Mid Calder. The Almond is the main stream and quite murky after its passage through the built-up areas of Livingston, Seafield and Blackburn. The clearer Linhouse has come from the Pentland Hills, formed by the junction of it and the Murieston Water about 400m upstream. The Linhouse has its origin near Crosswood Reservoir Image, and the Murieston comes from Cobbinshaw Reservoir Image For an iced-up view in the opposite direction see Image The lane along the river bank is Powie's Path and can be used to get to Pumpherston, Drumshoreland and Almondell Country Park.
