Most of the letters have now fallen off, but the text at the top originally read "The Family Burying Place of Hugh Reid, Engineer". Hugh Reid was the son of James Reid of Auchterarder; James Reid was associated with the Hyde Park Locomotive Works (see Image for more information), and Hugh Reid was associated with the same industry.
