This bridge crosses over The Middle Level Main Drain which continues to the left. Popham's Eau branches off to the right and runs west until it meets The River Nene (old course) near Low Corner Farm. Popham's Eau was dug in the early 1,600s from The River Nene (old Course) to Nordelph. The Middle Level Main Drain was dug several centuries later and there is an off-set in Popham's Eau near this bridge where the two drains cross.
