A sought after wayside hostelry just outside Ludlow. Run by 'Big Al' and his wife. He does the bar and cellar, she does the food. The beer is always excellent and the decor always a talking point. (I have been in there and seen lint and dust on tankards hanging from the roof beams maybe half an inch thick and a tank of terrapins with the water so green even the terrapins seem to be losing their sight as they scrabble frantically inside underwater). But it's a proper pub. Some people rave about it. Others turn on their heel and leave. I'm in between...
