This is a view from the Wantage Road End of the Northamptonshire County Cricket Ground. In the foreground are spectators at the north-west corner of the ground, in the background the spire of St Matthew's Church (1891-4), which contains a Henry Moore sculpture and a painting by Graham Sutherland.
