The 312 to Bury St Edmunds reverses (with the aid of a banksman, hidden behind the bus in this shot) out of Newmarket Guineas bus station onto Fred Archer Way. Usually, buses are able to leave the bus station forwards, but when this picture was taken the exit road was being resurfaced, so buses had to leave via the entrance. A banksman was stationed in the bus station at all times to assist with this and to manage the conflicting movements created.
