Located within the old Itford Farm complex and dating from the years immediately after World War Two. The lane is the old highway to Southease which is no longer accessible as the level crossing at the station is now only for local farm use. Until 2006 it was the course of the South Downs Way until the opening of Image which removed the danger of foot, cycle and horse traffic crossing the busy A26.
