The work in progress in High Street opposite the Tynewydd Terrace junction is part of an extensive regeneration programme in Newbridge. The EU-backed improvement scheme is aimed at making the town more attractive for residents, shoppers and investors. Among the improvements are wider, safer pavements, better road surfaces and new public spaces. Some road junctions will be realigned so that pavements can be widened.
