The following text is included on the tablet, "St Columba's Stone. Venerated from time immemorial in Derry, because of its traditionally Association with St Columba, this stone was on the 9th June 1897 removed from the street near St Columba's Well. where it had lain vertically on the roadway for centuries, and on the 9th June 1899, was solemnly enshrined in this Calvary, to which our Holy Father Leo XIII has been pleased to attach many indulgencies, both plenary and partial as recorded in 'Derry Columbcille'" It is pictured here Image]
