This group of cottages takes its name from a small Methodist chapel which once stood adjacent, slightly to the left of the buildings shown here. This had been demolished long before this photograph was taken. It is clear that the cottages were once occupied by handloom weavers. Now modernised and with enlarged front gardens, the cottages still stand in 2007.
