Sitting Bull at Otterspool Promenade

Sitting Bull was commissioned in 1984 by Merseyside Development Corporation for the Liverpool Garden Festival site. The bull was created by the Indian artist Dhruva Mistry http://dhruvamistry.com/theast.htm A photograph of the bull, in what I think was its original festival location, can be seen in his 1981-85 portfolio accessed via the above link. After the festival finished the bull was eventually relocated to its present position alongside Otterspool Promenade.
