This war memorial is on a small green, outside the former Joseph Crosfield & Sons works (now part of Unilever) alongside Sankey Way (A5061) at Bank Quay The inscription on (Image]) reads: JOSEPH CROSSFIELD & SONS LIMITED IN MEMORY OF THE MEN OF THIS FIRM WHO DIED FOR THEIR COUNTRY IN THE GREAT WARS* *The “s” on the end has clearly been added later, to include the Second World War.
