This was latterly owned by Yorkshire Imperial Metals and was in service until about 1980. The building in the centre houses the remains of a John Musgrave uniflow steam engine of 1910 that was in immaculate working order when the site closed and drove a gear reverse copper plate rolling mill. The intention was to preserve the engine but metal and slate thieves very rapidly wrecked the site and it is now hard to see any viable future for what should have been an important industrial monument. There was a display on Copperopolis in the Swansea Museum (July 2012) showing a large model of the copper works in this part of the valley. Very little now remains that is not ruinous or redeveloped.
